Future Professional Guardians of Florida is a program sponsored by AGED Trust and created in connection with the Guardian Peer Support & Mentor Group.
Who This Program Is For
Future Professional Guardians of Florida is intended for individuals who:
- Have completed the 40-hour guardianship course, or
- Are currently signed up to take the 40-hour guardianship course
- Have not completed registration with the Office of Public and Professional Guardians
- Are looking for education, resources, and support as they begin the process
Guardian Peer Support & Mentor Group members are encouraged to participate in these calls as mentors and resources for those who are just starting out. Your experience, guidance, and support can make a meaningful difference for new and aspiring guardians as they navigate the process and learn from those already working in the field.
Program Purpose
Beginning a career in professional guardianship can feel overwhelming. There are many steps, requirements, responsibilities, and questions that come up before someone officially enters the field.
Future Professional Guardians of Florida was created to help bridge that gap.
The purpose of this program is to provide a supportive space where future professional guardians can:
- Learn more about the professional guardianship field
- Better understand the steps involved in becoming registered
- Access helpful educational resources
- Ask questions in a supportive environment
- Connect with others who are also beginning their professional guardianship journey
- Gain encouragement and direction before entering the field
This program is meant to help future professional guardians feel more informed, prepared, and supported as they take their next steps.

How This Connects to the Guardian Peer Support & Mentor Group
The Guardian Peer Support & Mentor Group is a community for Florida’s professional and public guardians, their staff, and retired guardians to share resources, discuss challenges, and support one another in a unique and often complex profession.
Future Professional Guardians of Florida was created as the first step before joining that group.
Think of it as a pathway:
Step 1: Complete or sign up for a 40-hour guardianship course
Step 2: Join Future Professional Guardians of Florida for guidance, support, and resources
Step 3: Complete the steps required to become registered with OPPG
Step 4: Once registered, join the Guardian Peer Support & Mentor Group for continued peer support and mentorship
